OK…I am not going to lie.  It is HOT here.  We are in the middle of an insane heat wave and people…I don’t like it!  So when I wanted to play in my searing hot studio last night, I decided on the new Kitchen Sink 3 step Hibiscus Release! Now, you really can’t tell from the picture, which is a shame, but all of the flowers…background and the main image is embossed with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment was stamped and gone over with a ware pen to give it a water colored look to it.  My new fascination has been to use my pinking shears on things.  So I used them on the berry sorbet card stock as well as the ribbon to bring it a little added interest.  Hope you have a cool day!  I am off to my last day of teaching.  The kids will be singing their final exams today.

Stamps: Kitchen Sink 3 step Hibiscus Paper: Wild Wasabi SU!, Berry Sorbet PTI Ink: pretty in pink, regal rose, berry sorbet with some real red, real red, bravo burgundy Other: Ribbon:  PTI berry sorbet grosgrain

Here is a box I designed using the new stamps that have just been released from the Kitchen.

I recently had a friend /colleague graduate from music school.  The music degree colors for the tassles are pink.  I feel kind of bad for the guys who have to wear this, but oh well.  She isn’t a guy so I am sure it won’t matter.  I have known her since she was 12, and now I am working with her  on a regular basis.  So this box will hold a nice gift card for her.  So…here is the box.  I originally thought I would use the other side as the front, but when I made that detail on the flap, I thought it made a nice focal point.  So I switched my plans.  This box is nice and versatile that way.  I hope you like the design of it and try it yourself!

It is my little butternut squash’s birthday today!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Sophie is SO much like me. She actually calls herself “mini Mom”. I call her my “mini me”. In some ways…that is great, but in others, you learn really quickly what is NOT endearing about yourself! I have changed some of those things over the years, but seeing her in certain situations gives me a taste of my own medicine! I love you Sophie with all of my heart!! WE ALL DO!!! Happy birthday!!! A digi page of Sophie as well as a gift I made for her!

As you can see, I used the same picture of her, but in two different mediums.    I am going to have a very busy day today.  Making a cake, getting soft pretzels for the class and I am going to clean and organize Sophie’s room today for her.  Janet…if you are reading this…I have ton of clothes for you!!  ;)  Some really nice dresses too! LOL!  I will be updating you on Nanny and her birthday pics on Saturday.  Wait til you see what she got as one of her presents!  And the cards!!  OH SO MANY CARDS!  The digi tutorial is coming as well!

Frame: Michaels Unfinished frame

Stamps: Kitchen Sink Stamps “Alphabet Buddy”

Paper: American Crafts

Sticker embellies: I forget!  TERRIBLE!  If anyone recognizes these, please let me know!

The sun is shining and the grass is green!  It is a Kitchen Sink kind of morning!  I made two cards for you today.  One for older people and one for younger.  I am guilty of saying the word in the “younger” card.  So what does that make me?  An old person who is trying too hard, that’s what!!

For the first card I used “Playful Frames and Journaling” for the Oval and “All in the Family” for the sentiment.  Man…that is really one BIG sentiment sheet!  So many combinations!  I also used the “Playful Frames and Journaling” set for the bottom card.  I made the brackets using the oval and cut it in half and used one of the flower stamps in the background.  I stamped the letters and question marks using the “Alphabet Buddy” set.  I stamped the letters and brackets in red stazon and went over the whole image in Poppy Red prismacolor markers.  I then took the golderod marker and shaded around the edges.  It gives the whole thing a nice urban edge to it.  The ribbon I got in Germany and the buttons are a perfect match from Buttons Galore and More.  Hope y’all have a great day!

Ever feel like you need to live out loud and have a moment when you feel like just going for it? Well…here I chose and just let myself do it! I pulled out my Pretty Petals set from Kitchen Sink Stamps and my copics and adirondack black ink and just went for it! Sometimes you just have to be bright and unashamed about it!

OK…so I have a LOT going on this week. First off…the Papertrey release is tonight. I will be sharing my projects with you early tomorrow! I am also busy preparing the Stamp Simply Challenge in my head…not on paper yet. Also I have three concerts this weekend. I am busy learning the music for that since I didn’t get it all that long ago. I also received a nice photo from a colleague at school of me singing the solos in the Rossini….remember…the piece I was DREADING??? I still don’t like the piece, but the photo is lovely. I also found out that next year the piece will be Bach’s Magnificat, so all of a sudden I was a lot happier about the fact that I felt up against the wall with the Rossini this year. The Bach is one of my favorite pieces. Well…for that matter…anything by Bach is my favorite! I also put up some new videos on my myspace page of the Pergolesi Stabat Mater. Here is the picture of me singing:

Have a great day!

In the Kitchen!  There are lot of things going on today with Kitchen Sink Stamps!
I made this card in ten minutes. Well…that is what it was SUPPOSED to take. I kept making changes. Does that ever happen to you? I used the sets “Never a loss 4 Words” for the sentiment as well as “Playful Journaling” for the black circles. The cardstock is white PTI, Pumpkin Pie and basic black SU! and the ribbon is American Crafts. I also made a brad with one of the “Playful Journaling” circles and an SU! make-a brad. That was fun. It really helped tie the black theme together on the card. Hope you liek it! Read below for all of the cool things that are happening today! I am off to work! HOW STINKY!

Here is a flower box I printed out from a template I found. I will leave the template at the end of the post so you can use it as well. You will need to use two sheets of 8.5 x 11 cardstock since the box is in two pieces and then put together. I used groovy guava from SU!. After I assembled the box, I used one of the stamps from Kitchen Sink’s “Background and Borders” set and stamped it along the bottom. To finish the elegant look off, I then took some Groovy Guava stiched grosgrain and used it to tailor the edges of the box, as well as around the top edge. This gives a nice finished look to the box. I then used my cropadile and punch two holes in each side, threading ribbon in for the handle. For the finishing tough, I used a ribbon slider and made a bow to give it a focal point. I hope you try this fantastic template!! It is such a nice size for pocorn or a bouquet! I even got a small flower pot to fit inside!
